Canadian Light Source illuminates E. coli pathogenesis

Gotta love synchrotron science! Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Dustin Little used the Canadian Light Source beamline to solve the structure of a key protein-protein interaction that controls pathogenic behavior in E. coli. Read all about the discovery on the CLS News feed, or the scientific report on the PLoS Pathogens website.

Presenting Dr. Alex Oberc

Congratulations to MD/PhD student Alex Oberc on successfully defending his Ph.D. Alex did a lot of great work in the lab to advance our understanding of how adherent-invasive E. coli interact with xenobiotics. His paper looking at how antibiotics potentiate AIEC in animal models was just published in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Free access...check it out!
