After a full day of science, reflection, laughter, and a good dose of nature inspiration, I think we all felt a rejuvenated sense of purpose. We kicked things off with a group conversation about creativity in research, and about feelings of self-underappreciation that can sneak in, even for experienced scientists. That set the tone for a morning full of science discussions about big new ideas, new techniques, project troubleshooting, science impact in the community, and half-baked projects.
We hiked, we shared science, ate lots of good food, and had some good laughs with a game of lab-inspired Headbands that got surprisingly competitive!
I'm grateful for this group and the work they're doing. It's a privilege to lead a team that's curious, collaborative, and willing to grow as scientists and as people.
