MD/PhD student, Alex Oberc, wins national prize

Alex Oberc, an MD/PhD student in the Coombes lab, was recently awarded the Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. This award recognizes excellence in graduate student research. Alex is working to understand the role of microbes and other risk factors in Crohn’s disease, a devastating disease with currently no cure.
