CIHR Institute of Infection and Immunity brings community together

I was pleased to Chair the 2011 CIHR Institute of Infection and Immunity New Investigator Forum that was held in Lac Delage, Quebec, October 14-16. The New Investigator Forum is intended to facilitate the career development of new investigators by providing a workshop-style forum to enhance the skills necessary to manage a successful career in research. The Forum also provides an excellent opportunity to help new investigators establish peer networks with others working in related areas of health across all pillars of research. I was a beneficiary of this Forum in 2007 as a delegate and have had the pleasure in assisting in the planning and delivery of this exciting Forum in 2009 (co-Chair) and 2011 (Chair). Thanks to all those on the Organizing Committee and the CIHR staff who worked so hard with me on this program over the past year.
